The Meta Sum ("We," "Our," "Us," or "Company") built the Sum Bite mobile application ("App") as a free food and grocery ordering platform that allows customers to browse menus, place orders, and receive deliveries at their doorstep.

Camera Access
The App requests access to your device's camera only for specific user-initiated actions. We use the camera permission for the following purposes:
- Profile Photo: If you choose to set a profile picture, you may take a new photo using your device's camera. This is entirely optional — you can use the App without uploading a profile photo.
- Order Issue Reporting: If you encounter an issue with a delivered order (e.g., wrong item, damaged packaging), you may optionally attach a photo to your support request to help us resolve the issue faster.
How we handle camera access:
- The camera is activated only when you explicitly tap a camera-related button (such as "Change Profile Photo" or "Attach Photo").
- We never access your camera in the background, take photos without your action, or capture images silently.
- Photos you take through the App are uploaded only to support your specific request (profile picture or support attachment) and are not used for any other purpose.
- Your photos are not shared with any third party and are stored securely on our servers.
- You can deny or revoke camera permission at any time through your device settings. Camera-dependent features will simply be unavailable, but the rest of the App will continue to work normally.
Location Information
The App requests access to your device's location to provide accurate and timely delivery services. Here is how we use your location data:
- Delivery Address Detection: Your current location is used to auto-fill and confirm your delivery address when placing an order, making the process faster and more accurate.
- Saved Locations: You may save frequently used delivery addresses (e.g., Home, Work) within the App. These are stored securely on our servers and used only to process and deliver your future orders.
- Service Area Verification: Your location helps us determine whether delivery service is available in your area.
Your location data is never shared with any third party. It is used exclusively within our platform to fulfill your delivery requests. You can manage or revoke location permissions at any time through your device settings, though this may affect the App's ability to auto-detect your delivery address.
Live Rider Tracking
Once your order is confirmed and a delivery rider is assigned, the App provides a live order tracking feature. This allows you to view the real-time location of your assigned delivery rider on a map as they make their way to your address.
- Rider location is displayed only during an active delivery assigned to your order.
- This tracking is available solely to you as the customer for that specific order.
- Rider location data is not stored on your device and is only visible while the delivery is in progress.
Push Notifications
The App uses Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM), a service by Google, to send you push notifications. These notifications may include:
- Order confirmation and status updates (e.g., order accepted, being prepared, out for delivery, delivered)
- Promotional offers and announcements (only if you have opted in)
- Important service or account-related alerts
Firebase FCM uses a unique device token to deliver notifications to your device. This token is managed securely and is not linked to or shared with any external party. App Permissions Summary
Below is a complete list of permissions Sum Bite requests on Android devices and the reason each is required:
- Camera: To take a profile photo (optional) or attach a photo when reporting an order issue. Activated only when you tap a camera-related button.
- Location (Fine & Coarse): To detect your delivery address, verify service availability, and display nearby restaurants.
- Internet: To connect with our servers, load restaurants, place orders, and enable live rider tracking.
- Notifications: To send you order updates, delivery status, and important alerts via Firebase Cloud Messaging.
- Storage / Photos: To save and upload images you choose to share (such as profile photos or support attachments).
- Phone (optional): To enable a one-tap call to your delivery rider directly from the App during an active delivery.
All permissions can be granted, denied, or revoked at any time through your Android device settings. Denying any permission will only disable the related feature — the rest of the App will continue to work normally.
Third-Party Services
The App integrates the following third-party services strictly for technical and operational purposes. These services do not receive your personal or location data beyond what is required for their specific function:
- Google Play Services
- Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) — Push Notifications
- Google Maps Platform — Map Display & Rider Tracking
Payments
Currently, Sum Bite supports Cash on Delivery (COD) as the only available payment method. No payment card information, bank details, or financial data is collected, stored, or processed through the App. In-app top-up and digital payment features are not available at this time.
Log Data
In the event of an error or unexpected crash within the App, we may collect technical diagnostic data known as Log Data. This may include your device model, operating system version, IP address, the time and date of the issue, and other statistical information relevant to diagnosing the problem. Log data is used solely for improving App stability and performance and is never used for profiling or advertising.
Cookies
Sum Bite does not use cookies directly in the App. Certain third-party services integrated within the App, such as Google Maps and Firebase, may use cookies or similar tracking technologies as part of their own service operation. You may manage these preferences through your device settings.
Data Storage and Security
Your personal information, including saved delivery addresses, order history, and any photos you choose to upload, is stored securely on our servers using industry-standard encryption and access controls. We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
While we make every effort to safeguard your information, no method of electronic storage or internet transmission is 100% secure. We encourage you to use a strong password and keep your account credentials confidential.
